Roll Bond Converting’s Commitment to Green Practices Recognized by Industry Groups

Roll Bond Converting announced that it has been awarded Chain-of-Custody (CoC) certification with the nonprofit Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) after rigorous audits of their facilities and processes.

“These certifications represent a commitment to our clients that Roll Bond Converting is dedicated to recognizing and addressing our planet’s environmental concerns,” said Ramzy Bathish, president. “The SFI and FSC standards have differing origins and have evolved independently, but both address sustainability and the protection of natural resources. Dual certification made sense to us for a number of reasons. First, we are held to a higher measure as we are subject to the rigors of two distinct standards. Second, we are able to provide certified product to more customers as we can accommodate those customers who possess either SFI or FSC certifications. Third, we have access to a wider variety of certified products.”

SFI and FSC are internationally recognized, nonprofit organizations that develop standards for socially and ecologically responsible forest management. The SFI 2005- 2009 Standard is based on principles and measures that promote sustainable forest management and consider all forest values. It includes unique fiber sourcing requirements promoting responsible forest management on all suppliers’ lands.
