CREST Foundation, Inc. recently announced that online applications are open for the 2010/2011 academic year. To apply for a CREST Foundation scholarship, students may go to: http://apply.crestfoundation.org.
The mission of the CREST Foundation is to fund and award scholarships to children of reprographics industry employees who wish to pursue a better education but who lack the financial means to do so.
The CREST Foundation awarded $225,000 in scholarships since its inception in 2008 to more than 20 students. The online application session will be open for applications from March 1 through May 31 for the 2010/2011 school year. The scholarship awards will be announced in the fall of 2010.
Scholarships will be based on need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the following criteria:
- Parents of applicants must have worked in the reprographics industry for a minimum of five years;
- Reprographic employers must be a member of the IRgA in good standing at the time the award is granted;
- Applicants must have a minimum academic grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale;
- The Scholarship Selection Committee also reviews the student’s personal essay, achievements and two adult references; and
- The SAR (Student Aid Report) received from FAFSA is a required element of the application.
