IRgA Establishes Membership Goals for 2008-09
Despite some current economic challenges, the reprographics industry remains strong. So is the IRgA. We’re in this for the long haul and we will continue to grow stronger. As we work to build our industry, I need everyone’s help.
Membership is the life blood of our association, and it is our top priority. Now is the time to get everyone on board and work together as a cohesive and aligned industry. You can help us achieve two membership goals.
Goal No. 1: Retain 85 percent of member companies from last year. Of course, we would like to retain 100 percent; however, due to consolidation and natural attrition, 85 percent is a standard for trade associations such as ours.
The membership renewal period just completed and 79 percent of member companies have renewed. This number typically grows through the convention in May, when we reach our number.
- The membership period is August through July, the IRgA’s fiscal year.
- Companies received three reminder messages and invoices since August.
- I have contacted many companies personally, with great success. And my calls will continue.
Goal No. 2: Achieve net membership growth for the fiscal year. Based on the retention goal, this means attracting 40 member companies.
- Letters are being sent to RSA and ReproMAX members who are not IRgA members. A similar effort is made within ARC and non-affiliated organizations.
- Personal calls are being made to non-affiliated reprographics companies by Maggie Haptas, our director of Administration, and me.
- An e-mail campaign is ongoing throughout the year.

The IRgA is doing everything we can this year to strengthen membership. The board and staff have worked extremely hard for the past five years to develop a strong value proposition – one with a host of benefits in addition to the convention. We have succeeded and believe every reprographics company and industry supplier should be a member.
Now is the time to reach out to your colleagues and help the IRgA represent the entire reprographics industry.
