ARC Acquires Texas-Based Reprographics Fort Worth, Inc. 

American Reprographics Company (NYSE: ARP) announced the acquisition of Reprographics Fort Worth, Inc., a provider of document management, document reproduction and related services to the architectural, engineering and construction industry in Central Texas.

Reprographics Ft. Worth employs 61 people and operates four centralized service facilities in Ft. Worth, Dallas, Arlington and Roanoke, Texas. As with the majority of ARC operating divisions, the 22-year-old firm provides a range of both conventional and digital reprographic services including document management and fulfillment, black & white reproduction and bid management services. It also operates a related business under the trade name “Color Solutions” to provide marketing collateral and other specialty color work to non-construction related businesses. The company reported sales of $7.3 million in 2007. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Ricoh Completes Acquisition of IKON Office Solutions

Ricoh Company, Ltd. recently announced it has completed its previously announced $1.6 billion acquisition of IKON Office Solutions, Inc. through RICOH’s wholly owned U.S. distribution subsidiary, Ricoh Americas Corporation. As a result of the merger, IKON is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Ricoh Americas Corporation.

The transaction was approved by IKON shareholders at a special meeting held today. Pursuant to the merger agreement, former shareholders of IKON will receive $17.25 in cash for each share of IKON common stock. IKON stock ceased to trade on the New York Stock Exchange as of market open Nov. 3.

Through this acquisition, RICOH will strengthen its business infrastructure in the United States, Canada and Europe by combining with IKON’s strong sales and service network. RICOH also will gain access to IKON’s extensive customer base, which includes major and national account customers, as well as government and public sector customers. This acquisition represents another significant step in RICOH’s integrated global growth strategy.

Roland’s New 30'' VersaUV Inkjet Printer/Cutter Wins Prestigious DPI Product of the Year Award

Roland announced that the company’s new VersaUV LEC-300 30” UV inkjet printer/cutter was named 2008 DPI Product of the Year for the Output Device Poster Category in SGIA’s annual competition. Roland’s VersaWorks 3.0 RIP software earned a DPI Partner Award for the Output Device Poster Category for its role in producing the winning print.

Entries for the DPI Product of the Year competition were judged on the Expo show floor at the recent SGIA conference in Atlanta by a team of digital imaging professionals. In the Output Device category, entrants were required to submit a test print produced from the nominated device. The image, designed by SGIA, was intended to challenge the output device’s capabilities. Roland’s VersaUV LEC-300 outperformed all competing products to take top honors.

Mutoh America Hires New Midwest Regional Sales Manager

Mutoh America, Inc. welcomes Tod Ratcliffe to Mutoh America, Inc. as Midwest regional sales manager. With 22 years of experience under his belt, Ratcliffe has gained knowledge and expertise in the commercial print industry. His previous position, product marketing manager for Wide-Format Products at Fujifilm Graphic System, enabled him to build a strong foundation in the sales field that will facilitate his career at Mutoh America.

C2 Reprographics Hires Julie Cunningham as Key Account Manager

Twenty-year industry veteran Julie Cunningham is now a key account manager at Costa Mesa-based C2 Reprographics. An alumna of Cal State Long Beach, Cunningham managed a color photo lab before working in sales for another Orange County reprographics firm. Her many long-established relationships with clients in the architecture, engineering and construction industries helped to consistently place her in the top sales tier.

C2 Reprographics is the largest independent reprographics firm in Southern California. Founded in 2002 by owners Gary and Julie Crisp, the company now has three Orange County locations and one in Los Angeles, with 112 employees. A 43-vehicle delivery fleet augments C2’s online digital upload and delivery system.
